The drawings over the last eight days are in response to a hymn I heard sung often in the church I grew up in. It's amazing how these tunes creep out of my memory and that I find myself humming them. I actually like many of these songs. While the imagery at first my seem harsh, or rigid, or guilt-inducing, they're usually often quite redemptive and inspiring. This song, Are You Washed in the Blood of the Lamb, was sung with a somewhat rousing, uplifting tempo, quite different than the midi file that will play when you follow the link below. I have many mixed feelings about the church in which I was raised. I no longer go to church, haven't for many years. But in hindsight, my feelings are very positive, as it was a good time in the life of my family, and a good environment for a young person, up to a certain point, at a certain age. I would not go back to it. But there were lessons and messages in there that I carry with me and that influence the good ways I want to be.
